Job Description:
The
Financial Counselor
will report
to OneOncology’s
Lead Patient Financial Counselor.The Financial Counselor acts as the financial advocate to educate and assist patients on available resources to support their financial needs. This role will coordinate multiple activities across various groups in the practice including (but not limited to) working with the schedulers, administration, clinical and billing and patient outreach to support operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Act as the primary point of contact for patients to ensure they understand their insurance coverage, financial responsibility, and available assistance options.
● Coordinate patient outreach to arrange a phone call or appointment with patients prior to treatment; inform patients about the appointment and what documentation to bring
● Develop and track payment plans for patients
● Identify potential assistance programs available to patients (i.e. copay assistance).
● Act as escalation point for all financial assistance questions for practice staff; coordinate communication between physicians, nurses, front desk staff, and patients to ensure all relevant information required to advise patients on financial options is available before treatment.
