SKF in Sumter, S.C. is a world-class manufacturing site with a new line design and installation of state-of-the-art equipment and handling systems. SKF offers solutions around the rotating shaft, including bearings, seals, lubrication management, condition monitoring and maintenance services.

Summary:
EHS Compliance Technician will play a vital role in supporting our Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This position involves working closely with the EHS team to ensure that our facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and collaborating with various departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety procedures, emergency response plans, and environmental management systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training programs, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
  • Assist in monitoring air and water quality, waste management, and other environmental aspects to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support the EHS team in developing and delivering training programs to enhance employee awareness and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field or 5 years of experience in a EHS capacity in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with EHS regulations and industry standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or relevant work experience in EHS.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification is a plus.
