Job Title: Physician - Locum Tenens Job Specialty: Hospitalist - Pediatrics Job Duration: Contract (15 Days) Shift: Day - 5x8 (09:00 AM - 05:00 PM) with night call Guaranteed Hours: 12 Experience: Recent experience with pediatrics and newborns in a hospitalist setting within the last 3 years License: Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: Ability to see adults, pediatric patients, and newborns Job Description: - Provide medical care in a locum tenens capacity, focusing on hospitalist services for pediatric patients and newborns. - Ensure thorough and compassionate patient interaction, managing between 6-12 patient encounters per shift. - Cover 12-hour day shifts focusing on adult patients, with night call responsibilities for the pediatric hospitalist unit, including newborn coverage. - Anticipate the following shift coverage dates: - March 10-16 - April 7-13 - June 16-22 - Plus ongoing shifts throughout the year - Participate in necessary procedures: - Inpatient care for adults and pediatrics - Non-invasive ventilation management - Ventilation management for both adults and pediatrics - Intubation for adults and pediatrics - Attend C-sections and manage high-risk deliveries - Conscious and deep sedation - Central line placement for pediatrics - EKG interpretation - Work collaboratively in a healthcare team where general surgery, laboratory, and orthopedic surgery support is available 24/7. - Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, maintaining high standards of care and safety.
