Compensation Range:$14.00/hr and up depending on experience. (This is a non-tipped hourly position)

Schedules vary within these hours of operation: Sunday through Saturday: 11:00 am - 7:00 pm or 9:00am - 5:00pm depending on job needs for a particular shift. Weekend hours are required.

Job Duties

The title of this position is Bartender - Waitstaff Team Member. This team member supports the dining room, bar, and market. This is a multipurpose position. Depending on the job needs for a particular shift, this team member will work in the dining room as a waiter, the bar as a bartender/cashier and as a cashier/stocker in the market.

The Bartender - Waitstaff position involves engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking accurate food and beverage orders, communicating effectively with residents, guests and team members and serving our community residents with caring hospitality. The Bartender - Waitstaff position performs a variety of duties related to these three areas, including greeting residents, taking orders, serving food and beverages, clearing tables during service, resetting tables, assisting with event set up, light food prep and sandwich making, stocking items needed for service or for sale, light cleaning and other duties required to properly operated the dining room, bar and market. The Bartender - Waitstaff position responds to any other inquiries or requests regarding food and beverage selections. Other duties related to Bartender - Waitstaff position include:

  • Welcoming residents and guests with friendly enthusiasm, taking accurate food and beverage orders, from and making recommendations if needed.
  • Answering questions from Informing residents and guests about the food menu, beverages, specials and items sold in the market.
  • While in bartending role, selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to residents and guests
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Assisting management with inventory for ordering food and supplies to ensuring the dining room, bar and market are well-stocked.
  • Adhering to all food safety, quality, and alcohol control
  • Handling credit and debit card transactions while ensuring all charges are accurate.
  • Maintaining a clean dining room, bar and market by removing trash, cleaning all surfaces, and bringing all used glasses/utensils to the proper area.
  • Periodically assisting with the development of developing new cocktail recipes.
  • The ability to handle light food prep and sandwich making.
  • The ability to use a computer register system.
  • Can assist with stocking in our mini convenience market.
  • A multitasker: Has the ability to work bar, handle light food service and ring up sales for the market and bar.
The ideal candidate will have a neat, professional appearance, an engaging, friendly personality, the ability to juggle multiple simultaneous requests efficiently. A big plus is the ability to remember our resident's and guest's names and their preferencesand personable even under pressure.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires extended standing and/or walking
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Frequent bending and stooping
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
  • Louisiana Bartenders License. (Must be 21 years of age or older.)
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English language and follow written and oral instructions
  • Knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service experiences to all patrons in the bar and marketplace
