The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout a flourishing power engineering company with multiple locations. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as taking an innovative approach regarding creative recruiting ideas to source high-volume entry level through executive technical positions. This position will be responsible for full life cycle recruiting and coordinating with hiring managers to determine the best talent sourcing plans.If you like to "post-n-pray" this may not be for you.

  • Partner with hiring leaders to accurately define position requirements and develop an effective sourcing strategy.
  • Maintains knowledge of power engineering and design.
  • Builds strong relationships with hiring managers to ensure hiring requirements are understood, anticipated and met.
  • Determine and partner/execute on appropriate recruiting sources such as meet-ups, local-recruiting marketing campaigns, employee referral programs, college recruiting programs, social networking and targeted websites.
  • Develops sourcing strategies for talented and diverse candidates through creative methods such as job posting, data mining of the internet, Boolean Search, online databases, social media, internal databases, employee referrals, networking, cold calling, competitor research, career fairs, etc. Maintains a network of contacts to identify and source qualified candidates.
  • Use competitive intelligence and industry knowledge to research and identify new recruiting channels - if you like to "post-n-pray" this may not be for you.
  • Proactively monitors and evaluates applicant pool and recalibrates sourcing strategy as needed.
  • Organize onsite job fairs and participate in external job fairs.
  • Screens candidates for full understanding of availability, interest levels, visa status, salary range, relocation needs, and basic qualifications. Evaluates employment factors such as job experience, education, skills, training, fit with organization, and future potential.
  • Executing the sourcing strategy: researching, shortlisting, interviewing, and presenting candidates.
  • Proactively provide updates to hiring team and candidates.
  • Negotiate and extend offers of employment and answer benefit questions.
  • Setup and post new opportunities (jobs).
  • Performs reference and background checks on candidates. Schedules new employee orientation. Completes close-out of recruitment files.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
  • Development and utilization of Internet Mining technology and capabilities.

Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of technical recruiting experience.
  • Successful experience recruiting for engineering, utility or power industry.
  • Experience with creative methods of recruiting such as job posting, data mining of the internet, Boolean Search, online databases, social media, internal databases, employee referrals, networking, cold calling, competitor research, career fairs, etc.
  • Experience in building strong professional talent networks, across multiple regions, within niche skills sets such as power engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience using social media and other recruiting tools to actively recruit.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering, business administration, human resources, marketing or similar field.
  • Must be able to understand how to recruit passive candidates at all levels and develop sophisticated closing strategies that seek for matching fit and motivation rather than focusing on selling alone.
  • Must have advanced computer skills, including MS Office, HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws and employment immigration.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
