Senior Director of Procurement

We are looking for a Sr. Director of Procurement to lead our Supply Chain efforts

We are looking for procurement professionals in the Food and Beverage Industry.

Basic Skills:

Self-starter and team player with a proven track record of success in achieving company goals and objectives while leading a Procurement Department. 10+ years of direct (food) & indirect (packaging) procurement experience with extensive food product and supplier knowledge in food service/manufacturing. An innovator and forward thinker with successful verbal and written communication skills to team members and vendors. Must be effective at leading and encouraging team members. Occasional local, statewide and national travel may be required, i.e., food shows and conferences. The Senior Director of Procurement will report to the VP of Operations.

General Purpose of Job:

Will be responsible for developing and executing demand and supply strategies to meet customer and supplier service level expectations while minimizing the costs invested in inventory and leading a functional team in food & supply procurement. Leads initiatives and tracks measurable progress for all areas of procurement/supply Chain for the company. Owns the negotiation of annual vendor contracts and vendor relationships which requires strong negotiating experience. Goes above and beyond when sourcing new products within budget constraints. Responsible for ensuring delivery of raw and finished goods required for production. Should be comfortable in both big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution. Able to lead procurement in a data-driven and analytical environment.

Essential Duties:

Including but not limited to: · Responsible for developing and executing the purchasing strategies for food manufacturing and high-volume catering centered around cost-saving initiatives. · Negotiate with vendors and leverage buying opportunities to reduce food costs through procurement strategies. · Establish metrics and recurring reporting to drive critical procurement and production decisions. · Lead a high-performance team culture with a detailed and rigorous performance management philosophy and approach. · Establish inventory management COE responsible for leading continuous improvement activities relating to procurement and demand planning through leveraging existing systems with simplicity in mind. · Oversight of the company-wide sourcing and procurement function of raw materials and supplies. · Establish business rules, procedures, and performance monitoring standards related to procurement. · Create policies for procurement and train leaders and employees. · Create and track PPV’s.

Degree, Certifications, Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree, preferred. · Supply chain certification, preferred. · 10+ years of direct (food) & indirect (packaging) procurement experience with extensive food product and supplier knowledge in food service/manufacturing with an extensive negotiating background.

Preferred Skills:

· Achievement oriented (timeline-driven, detail-oriented, good planning, and proven negotiation skills) · Advanced knowledge of supply chain management, sourcing and/or procurement. · Ability to apply advanced analytics and Industry benchmarking techniques and tools. · Microsoft Dynamic NAV a plus, minimum experience in a modern MRP/ERP application a must · Advanced Microsoft Office – particularly Microsoft Excel
