* 1st Shift Schedule: Varies by Department.

* Approximately 40 hours per week.

* Some overtime may be required.

* **Weekend availability is required.**

* Produce cooked items for oven ready meals to the correct specifications, quality and food safety standards.

* Responsible for adhering to established food recipes that include kettle and skillet cooking, blanching, steaming and roasting.

* Ensures compliance with good manufacturing procedures relating to time, temperature, documentation and following all proper food handling and food safety protocols with a high level of quality.

* Assist in the assembly line to assemble and prep in accordance with predetermined weights and measures.

* Adhere to job cards to ensure that all products are produced per specifications

* Ensure each batch has been recorded with end of cook temperatures and cooked items are cooled to the CCP (critical control point) within 4 hours.

* Label and pack prepared items into curated meal bags and store them in boxes per order requests.

* Responsible for completing startup & shut down checks daily.

* Adhere proper sanitation as it relates to kitchen and equipment cleanliness, organization, allergen controls, and elimination of any potential cross contamination.

* Maintain a clean, organized and safe workspace always. Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to the department lead and or supervisor.

* Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

* Complete training as assigned.

The Cook assists the Ready to Eat team in the assembly and preparation of new and existing oven ready products in a large volume, fresh food manufacturing environment. The cook is responsible for all food production and sanitation during daily operations. This position is expected to follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food handling procedures, quality control and other safety procedures and policies.

* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

* 2-3 years experience with food handling; understanding the basics of food handling and food safety preferred

* Ability to work in a fast paced, organized team environment with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

* Must have a passion for delicious healthy foods with high standards of quality and food safety.

* Ability to add, subtract, understand units of measurement and read and fully understand English manuals

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (10- 40) for 8 or more hours and in some instances, in a dark environment

* Ability to work a variety of shifts, long hours and weekends as needed
