We are seeking an experienced leader in network engineering, site reliability engineering, or network operations who can lead our Network Rapid Response team in the resolution and avoidance of incidents to JPMC. This person will be responsible for the availability of the JPMC network and all customer network support, collaborating with a team of engineers and managers to provide network support. A person who will lead our goal of modernizing network operations with continuous improvement, while also ensuring the same incident never occurs twice. The right person can lead JPMC in the resolution of network incidents, be experiencing leading calls in fast moving situations, provide communications to leadership, and follow through on the incident to ensure our customers feel confident that they will not be impacted again.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead Major Incidents or Problem Calls by delegating tasks, escalating when needed and documenting actions takenDevelop, communicate, and present results to senior leadership both verbally and in writing on a proactive basisProvide customers with status updates and give them confidence we are managing the incidentLead post event analysis with detailed documentation, plans for prevention and action item follow-upsAssist engineers with t roubleshoot ingincidents of all technical levelsManage day-to-day operations for incidents (analyze and track) while summarizing findings to leadership and holding peers accountable for delivery datesManage escalations and create self-service opportunities for our clients to improve MTTRDevelop reporting using analytics and presenting results to peers and senior leadership.Utilize data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and impact avoidance.Lead continuous improvements in areas such as processes, run books, automation, monitoring, postmortems, and reliability improvements.Lead and/or participate in the strategy of the organization, developing & tracking goals, defining service level objectives and vendor management.Work with peers and the team for technical and professional growthWork with our clients, customers, and stakeholders to improve MTTR, quality of work, and create lasting relationshipsShift preference is Tuesday - Saturday, but willing to negotiate for the right candidate.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.7-10 years at a minimum in a senior technical leadership role leading engineering, SRE, or operations teams.
Expertise in multiple Infrastructure technologies below:
Data centers - Cisco (ACI) or VXLAN with Cisco and or AristaServer load balancing with F5 - local or global traffic managementFirewalls -FortinetPresenting metrics and accomplishments using data analyticsNetwork management and tooling - SevOne, Splunk, Cisco Nexus Dashboard, and or DNA (Digital Network Architecture), SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)Able to read and explain TCP/IP traces.
Preferred skills:
SD WAN solutions or service provider level WAN experience.CI/CD pipelines, Python, & Ansible programming languagesITIL and operational governanceExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCP operations.
Ability to organize work for teams of employees, so there is clearly documented accountability.Strong understanding of infrastructure components and how they are tracked and managed in various systems.Facilitate postmortem meetings and document problem next steps.Experience with data analytics, reporting, and looking for patterns in incidents.Technological, organizational, and/or operational change management.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Strong communication skills to lead major incidents with clients, engineers, and vendors.Proven ability to drive results with Agile methodologies and Jira (Align).
