Title: Sourcing Analyst Intern

Location: Lancaster, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1st Shift

Internship Program Overview:
J.L. Clark's Summer Internship Program provides students with an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field. Interns are assigned meaningful projects and responsibilities, enabling them to develop practical skills and knowledge while contributing to the organization's success. Our program fosters a collaborative and supportive environment where interns work alongside seasoned professionals, encouraging them to ask questions, share ideas, and make valuable connections.

Internship Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the Value Stream Procure to Pay process, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency improvement.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights on current procurement practices and supplier relationships.
  3. Develop and execute a plan to update the approved supplier list, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and quality standards.
  4. Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to assess supplier performance and evaluate potential risks and opportunities.
  5. Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to key stakeholders, including senior management.
Key Success Criteria for the Project:
  1. Completion of a detailed Value Stream Map highlighting areas for improvement and efficiency gains within the Procure to Pay process.
  2. Delivery of actionable recommendations for streamlining procurement processes and optimizing supplier relationships.
  3. Update of the approved supplier list with enhanced criteria and evaluation metrics to drive continuous improvement.

This is a paid internship ($20 per hour), starting June 3rd ,2024, and ending August 8th, 2024.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, or Business.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, procurement, or related fields. (*may be related back to in-class learning/course completion)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with analytical tools and software is preferred.
