Senior SMTP Engineer

What does a successful Senior SMTP Engineer do at Fiserv?

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining email infrastructure within the enterprise. You will work with a cross-functional team to drive operational stability in a complex messaging environment comprised of multiple business units and support groups.

What you will do:
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of SMTP servers and related email for optimal email delivery speed and efficiency
  • Manage email routing to ensure that messages are delivered correctly and efficiently, and troubleshoot any issues that arise, such as bounced messages or delays
  • Implement and maintain email security measures, including spam filters, antivirus solutions, and email authentication mechanisms such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Ensure email systems comply with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR or HIPAA when applicable
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for email systems to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures or data loss
  • Create and maintain documentation related to email system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
What you will need to have:
  • 6+ years of SMTP Development experience
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange/O365
  • Prior experience with Fiserv platforms and systems
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, New York or Washington.
