Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Ideally 1-2 days per week, 3-6 hours in the evening (3:30pm-6:30pm), plus weekend coverage (1-2 weekend days/year).A caregiver who excels in this role, will:Evaluate and treatpatients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Establish, revise, and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard occupational therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.Supervise activities of occupational therapist assistants, students, and other support personnel.Always maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files regarding patient condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessment of assigned patients. Participates as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team when necessary.Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:Bachelor's Degree required.Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.Current State Licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:Prior experience in pediatrics preferred.Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Click the link and see how we're dedicated to providing what matters most to you:Requirements:Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load to support patient from falling.Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
