DescriptionJob Summary: The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all floors in our healthcare facility. The Floor Technician performs a variety of cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors, corridors, and common areas on multiple floor types.Disinfect and sanitize surfaces, including patient rooms, bathrooms, and waiting areas, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.Clean and sanitize medical equipment and supplies according to established protocols.Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials safely.Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services and emergencies.Collaborate with other healthcare staff to maintain a clean and orderly environment.Adhere to infection control guidelines and standards to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to manager and place work order in work order system.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping services, preferably in a healthcare setting.Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in healthcare facilities.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience using floor cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet extractors.FUNCTIONAL DEMANDSFunctional Job Requirements: Job requirements include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting and reaching. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary. Lifting RequirementsJob requires heavy lifting on an occasional basis.
