**Environmental Health & Safety Manager**

**Salt Lake City, UT**

**ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER:** USNC-Tech is seeking outstanding talent to join us in our laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah for the role of **Environmental Health & Safety Manager**. This position will play a direct role in helping USNC-Tech achieve physical development and execution of company goals in a safe manner. This individual will be expected to create and own the safety program for USNC-Tech. As a small and scrappy team of individuals making the impossible reality, this position will also support other aspects of the business as needed. **LOCATION OF WORK AND TRAVEL:** This position will be based in Salt Lake City, UT, with limited travel

**DIVISION:** USNC-Tech

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Support site management's requirement to safely execute a quality process.

* Administer the company's Health & Safety Program locally; site Accident Prevention Plans; Activity Hazard Analyses; Process Hazard Analyses; and other site-specific plans, procedures, and policies

* Manage Health & Safety Training, ensuring employees understand hazards associated with site conditions and activities and methods to mitigate those hazards

* Audit and inspect site conditions and activities; initiate corrective and preventive actions and verify the effectiveness of actions taken

* Guide safety improvements

* Lead incident investigations with affected supervisor, assuring actionable causes of incidents are acted on by managers and supervisors and verifying the effectiveness of actions taken

* Report activities, findings, incidents and investigations, and site OSHA statistic to management

* Administer the OSHA 300 Log; review with management

* Conduct weekly safety meetings with site staff.

* Industrial Hygiene sampling and monitoring as needed

* Documenting and tracking of monitoring data

* Maintain an inventory of industrial hygiene instrumentation and monitoring equipment

* Other duties as assigned by management

* Perform calibration, maintenance, warehousing, facilities, and purchasing duties as assigned

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**

* AS degree in Occupational Health or other applicable discipline or the equivalent of 5 years experience as a Safety Professional in an industrial setting

* Ability to meticulously take and record details

* Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and odd hours as needed

* Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, work at elevated heights, work in outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain), work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

**PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:**

* Experience with ceramic fabrication and testing/evaluation

* Experience with equipment installation and general facilities work

* Knowledgeable about equipment maintenance and care

* Aptitude for hands-on laboratory experimentation

* Proficient in MS Office Suite
