Description The Altland House of Abbottstown & Center Square Brewing is looking for a part-time host to join our team.
The host would be responsible for managing the brewery restaurant.
This job would be ideal for someone with flexible availability.
Shifts would be Thurs-Saturday approx 4pm-9pm.
Weekends & Holidays required.
Must be 18 or older.
Requirements
- Responsible for arriving on time, dressed in appropriate professional attire, and ready to work.
- Check daily reservations and Pink Event Sheets at beginning of each shift.
- Performs "opening duties" such as counting money in cash drawers; ensuring that proper lighting and temperatures are available at all locations of the dining room, bars, service stations, lobby and restrooms; opening sessions for all transactions; checking hotel rooms to ensure that they have appropriate lighting, temperatures and amenities as necessitated by daily check-ins.
- Check dining areas to ensure tables are set correctly for general service and special functions. Assign duties to servers and bus persons on staff if applicable.
- Receives special instruction from manager on duty or operations manager regarding instructions on functions/parties or hotel reservations.
- Acknowledges guests with appropriate greeting, by name if known, meet & greet with a warm friendly smile and provide the same warmth and friendliness upon the patron's exit.
- Provides menus for guests at each table, fills all water goblets, and supplies complimentary chips and condiments to each table.
- May take drink orders in the event that the server is busy; relay cocktail order to bartender if one is available (or prepare alcoholic beverages yourself if not). Delivers drinks to table in timely fashion.
- Checks frequently with customers to ensure excellence in food and service, re-waters, refills coffee or other beverages as needed and deals courteously with special requests of customers during dining.
- Assists servers in clearing tables between courses and at end of meal, resets tables as necessary or directs bus person on duty.
- May be required to expedite food orders and deliver to tables. Therefore, a thorough knowledge of table numbers and all menu items is required.
- Must maintain familiarity with POS system in order to ring up "to-go" food orders, gift certificates, lodging sales and assist servers in collecting payment from patrons during peak busy hours.
- Performs "check-in" duties for hotel guests: greets guest; collects payment; confirms all reservation details such as duration of stay, mealtimes, and extra indulgences (ex. Flowers, wine); escorts guests to rooms; informs guests of entrance, exit, parking, breakfast and other services or amenities available to them.
- Must maintain clear communication with kitchen personnel and front-of-house personnel, to ensure that the guest experience is ideal.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
DRESS CODE: All hostesses employed by The Altland House must have a professional appearance and dress business causal for each shift. All shirts and pants must be pressed and cleaned with no visible defects. The employee must practice good hygiene and their hair must be off of their shoulders and out of their face at all times. Tattoos may not be visible and excessive jewelry is not permitted.
It is imperative to comply with the dress code designated for this position, not only because you are a representative of this company, but because it is a necessity to maintain a healthful and safe environment.
