The Transportation Authorization Department(TAD) PODS Specialist is responsible for reconciliation of services including ambulance, wheelchair, and gurney van transports that should optimally result in payment for those services. The Transportation Authorization Department(TAD) POD Specialist is a liaison between front-line ambulance operations and billing to ensure communication is translated between the two entities so accurate billing of the claim is successful.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Reconciles daily work performed by operations to ensure there is paperwork for every billable event.
Examines the patient record and/or research all avenues in order to gather information.
Ensures complete records are obtained to present billing with the most clean and complete paperwork for billing.
Manages returns from billing in which additional information or corrections are required for proper billing.
Engages with operations and patients when billing questions arise, directing them to the proper location or person to answer questions.

Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of health care billing procedures, documentation and standards.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Knowledge of Smartsheet program.
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports when needed.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
Ability to take direction but also work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision.
