CCM focuses on accessibility, inclusion, and the pursuit of childhood, ensuring valuable and memorable experiences for all visitors.

The People & Culture Assistant is responsible for supporting the People & Culture department with recruitment, payroll, benefit administration and staff recognition and communication. The People & Culture Assistant is also responsible for oversight and maintenance of HRIS platform (records and reports).

Responsibilities:

Recruitment and On-Boarding
  • Assist with the recruitment process as needed with sourcing, scheduling interviews, conducting candidate professional references, and the onboarding process.
  • Attend job, intern, and volunteer fairs as applicable.
  • Process on-boarding new employees in Paylocity, process background checks, and meet with new hires on their first day first day to set-up in system and schedule staff for training modules.
Benefits
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure proper departmental cost allocation for each monthly insurance bill and process invoices.
  • Assist with staff inquiries regarding benefit plans, resolving issues with coverage, and general questions relating to benefits.
  • Establish a relationship with insurance brokers and vendors to effectively support staff inquiries, coordinate open enrollment, and resolve enrollment/billing discrepancies.
  • Audit benefits portals biweekly to ensure data integrity.
Staff Resource and Recognition
  • Serve as a resource to all staff by being available and accessible to discuss a variety of employee relations issues, leaves, policy interpretations, and day-to-day changes and issues.
  • Assist the People & Culture Team with organizing, facilitating and hosting monthly all-staff meetings, periodic staff events, or parties.
Operations
  • Assist as needed with managing and maintaining Paylocity (museum's payroll and HRIS system), including system troubleshooting, configuring various modules, etc.
  • Manage personnel records, files, reports.
  • Supports the museum's work in diversity, equity, access and inclusion and actively ensures that DEAI principles are upheld in all work with fellow staff, visitors, community and other external partners.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and mastering new skills on an ongoing basis; willingness to be informed/certified/trained through institution-offered courses and to work within Diversity, Equity, Access, Inclusion (DEAI) frameworks and actively engage in learning about these frameworks.
  • Assist the Vice President of People & Culture with special projects and other duties as necessary and assigned
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field - Human Resources, Business/Psychology, Industrial Psychology or equivalent in experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years Human Resources administrative experience.
  • Prior experience with benefits administration and compliance is strongly preferred
  • Analytical skills with excellent attention to detail is required
  • Administrator-level experience with HRIS platforms is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with Museum staff members as well as outside resources
  • Intermediate level abilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be highly trustworthy and able to strictly maintain confidentiality of privileged information
  • Possess an equity mindset and cultural humility

Job Location: Hybrid - remote on Tuesdays and on-site Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Salary Range: This is a part-time/non-exempt position, working an average of 22.5 hours per week at $23-$25/hour.

Benefits: Part-time: This position is eligible to participate in dental & vision coverages, 401k after six months of service as well as accrue sick time.
