Payroll / HR Generalist

American Hardwood Industries in Virginia is looking to add a Payroll / HR Generalist to their Waynesboro, VA team. AHI is one of the leading producers of Appalachian and Northern hardwood lumber, manufacturing more than 110 million board feet annually and shipping to customers throughout the world.

Payroll / HR Generalist Responsibilities

• Processing payroll and all general ledger entries
• Monthly closing activities
• Benefit enrollment
• New hire set up including payroll election setup, garnishments, and payroll reports

• Knowledge of labor laws preferred
• Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with a heavy emphasis on Excel
• Ability to communicate with various departments and locations within the Company as well as external auditors.
• An Associate's Degree in accounting or a minimum of four years experience working with a computerized accounting system is required
• Qualified candidates having experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus
