Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction+ Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.Position Summary: Mental Health Counselor 32 Hours 11pm-7am. $2000 Sign on Bonus Job Description:The Mental Health Counselor is a member of a multi-disciplinary patient treatment team, reports to the Clinical Manager or designee. The Mental Health Counselor implements responsibilities in accordance with Psychiatric nursing policies, procedures, and standards.Essential Functions: Provides patient care as directed by the RN. Respects each patient as an individual; provides care that fosters the patient's sense of dignity and positive self-regard and uses the least restrictive approach to behavioral management. Assists with admission and discharge of patients with the supervision of the RN. Appropriately prioritizes patient care assignment (e.g., recognizes and responds appropriately to crisis situations, and demonstrates understanding of a psychiatric emergency, and can maintain patient and department safety). Provides thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all pertinent data, according to established standards (e.g., 'Problem-Intervention-Plan' format for progress notes and accuracy in vital sign documentation). Reports to RN any changes in a patient's mental status (e.g., suicidal thoughts, psychotic symptoms) and/or physical status (e.g., pain level) in a timely manner.Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: BLSCare of an Aggressive Patient (COAP) within 30 days. Other: Must be able to successfully clear a background check, including a criminal search.
