Job Title: Junior Estimator - Steel Fabrication Job Shop

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis. The ideal candidate will support our estimating department in preparing accurate and competitive bids for steel fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and estimates for steel fabrication projects based on architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to review project specifications and requirements.
  • Research material costs, labor costs, and other project expenses to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients within specified deadlines.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and pricing models for future reference.
  • Support procurement activities by obtaining quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience or exposure to quantity take-offs and/or full estimates/bids, preferably in steel fabrication or related industry.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and materials used in steel fabrication.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
