Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

To provide engineering support regarding design and technical assistance with all aspects of the underground mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Prepare mine plans, roof control plans, mine ventilation plans/mapping, mine drainage design, mine ventilation system design, mine supply water handling, and rock dust systems.
• Prepare accurate and timely volumetric calculations and provide monthly production and royalties
• Analyze labor requirements, equipment needs and operational costs to compute and prepare annual budget reports as well as accurately forecast future performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Provide accurate and timely reports of mine performance including section performance statistics.
• Provide cost analysis of projects and prepare AFEs for all mine related capital projects
• Plan and oversee capital projects to ensure timely completion within budgeted costs
• Plan and carry out special projects as required by mine management
• Oversee all aspects of underground surveying, including underground construction surveying.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in mining, civil engineering, or equivalent field
• 5-7 years of Engineering experience
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
• Pass Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam
• Knowledge of underground surveying practices
• Working knowledge of all applicable MSHA and WVMHS&T rules and regulations
