Under the direction of the Finance Director, this position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Finance Specialist is responsible for accounting functions and projects that support the organization's overall financial position and require high detail and confidentiality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Completes a variety of accounting duties that may include but are not limited to:

Generate daily reports, including balancing daily receipts, posting, and bank deposits. Accounts payables and receivable processes for membership, programs, and childcare. Processing collections, credits, refunds, and other system maintenance items. Grant tracking and allocation management. Sales tax & Compensating Use tax reports and allocations as needed. Audit preparation, review of Standard Operating Procedures, and enforcing financial policies and processes as needed. Assist department leadership staff with monthly variance review as needed. Collection and management of 1099’s.

Donation financial processes include but are not limited to:

Process all donations received in accordance with receipting/acknowledgment guidelines. Manage the online donation system. Oversee/review/reconcile all donations processed through the association. Responsible for donation pledges and accounts receivable billings and collections. Annual contribution letters.

Provide support to the Finance Director as needed and serve as a backup in the Finance Director’s absence. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility, and consistently demonstrating professional conduct. Responds to challenges with possible solutions promptly. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 1-3 years of successful accounting background or related field. General knowledge of GAPP, general ledger and accounting functions, and software preferred, but willing to train Experience in office administration, keying, data entry, and knowledge or the ability to learn computer software packages (DAXKO, Microsoft Office). Must possess computer skills necessary to efficiently and accurately enter and track data. Strong experience utilizing Excel and other Office products. Ability to work with people through excellent written and oral communication skills, problem-solving expertise, and conflict-resolution skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical to this position. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and balance shifting priorities while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines. Ability and willingness to work as part of the Finance Team WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must regularly lift up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally move up to seventy-five (75) pounds in the form of supplies or equipment. Able to sit, stand, and bend to perform appropriate tasks. Must be able to move at an appropriate pace to respond to emergencies. Follow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCA. May be required to stand for extended periods.
