Logistics Specialist

Logistics Professional Amazon is seeking a logistics professional for our Amazon Web Services Team in the Columbus, OH area. Logistics Specialists monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities in our warehouse and data centers. They process inbound and outbound shipments, verify inventory, conduct cycle counts, manage an Inventory Management System and own chain-of-custody processes for Data Center Technicians and Engineers. They will also be responsible for transporting parts between different locations operating sprinter vans, trucks, or various powered equipment (i.e forklift or electric pallet jack). Specialists should be comfortable and willing to regularly drive a variety of motorized vehicles, including box trucks up to 26' in length. Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older. Candidate must hold a valid state-appropriate driver's license, be able to obtain their Driver Qualification File (DQF) and or a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidate must obtain & maintain a DOT Med Card and be eligible to drive in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. This position involves frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials and products. Logistics Specialists will be required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company. They must also maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all work spaces. Preferred candidates will have experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment, as well as experience and knowledge of reverse logistics processes. This future Amazonian must possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, commitment to Operational Excellence, and adhere to strict safety standards. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. Key job responsibilities include: Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles Attend company provided fork lift operator training Complete company provided training in driving box trucks up to 26' in length Handle sensitive/classified materials Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts Occasionally work is in an office environment Work overtime as required Perform the following tasks: Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances Participate in group lifts of 41 pounds or more Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance Push or pull heavy objects into position Work in a noisy environment Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time About the team: AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. Basic Qualifications: 1+ years of logistics experience 1+ years of material forecasting experience Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above Preferred Qualifications: Experience using a computerized Inventory Management System (IMS) Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices. Be able to demonstrate process improvement and operational efficiencies. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $52,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $112,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
