Job Description

Seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our IT team. Reporting to the Director, BI Analytics,

this role is responsible for visualizing and designing enterprise data management framework. This framework includes the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge enterprise data. The role also provides a standard business vocabulary, expresses strategic requirements, outlines high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements, and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business architecture.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of experience in developing BI solutions using an industry leading BI platform (PowerBI preferred). Candidates should possess technical skills in SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica, or similar), and ETL Development. Additionally, candidates should possess skills in data modeling, design, visualization, and migration, as well as database administration. Some knowledge of columnar, NoSQL databases, predictive analysis, and cloud computing are important in this position.

Senior Data Architect:

Design and implement enterprise data architecture that includes data components needed to build and deliver business solutions to include: Data Pipelines, Real-time analytics, Cloud Computing, Streaming Data, AI & Client, APIs, and Cloud storage (i.e. Data Lake and Cloud SQL.)

Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data flows, integrations, transformations, databases, data warehouses, and Data Lakes.

Develop architectural design patterns for data processing that implement business processes within the software eco-system.

Develop diagrams representing key data entities and their relationships.

Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and master data.

Design, maintain, document, and govern enterprise data flows within the organization. Data flows include data creation, transformations, and hot, warn, and cold storage.

Ensure BI data, architecture, UI/UX designs meet the overall needs of the enterprise.

Guide the development, testing and implementation of Data Warehouse/Data Lake assets to support BI reports, dashboards, and BI solutions.

Ensure projects are executed within agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Guide the implementation of data solutions for self-service analytics.

Assist in the development of data structures, views, and database components in support of BI solution development.

Work with IT management in the development of 3-5-year Enterprise Data roadmap.

Participates in the formulation of development procedures, standards, deployment/retirement and archiving as related to the data architecture, tools and applications.

Ability to listen to user requirements and convey messages in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner using the appropriate communication medium.

Create professional presentations to small work groups on both technical and functional requirements.

Structured Query Language

ETL Development

Established data management and reporting technologies, and have some knowledge of columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data.

RDMS (relational database management systems) and foundational database skills.

Database management system software, especially Microsoft SQL Server.

Databases such as NoSQL and cloud computing.

Object Oriented Programming Language(s).

Understanding of business functional areas, business management issues and data analysis.
