Compensation Range
Hourly: $37.75 - $57.20 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to analyze and evaluate third-party investment managers and support the broader Investment Division.

Essential Functions
  • Support the Investment Division through analysis and research of third-party investment managers
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information on the people and resources, philosophy, process, portfolio, and performance of external investments
  • Assume the lead role on quarterly reviews of assigned manager strategies and the selection of new manager strategies
  • Keep abreast of relevant market events and trends, including public and private markets
  • Partner with external management teams, industry representatives, and/or provider representatives
  • Prepare reports and communicate evaluations to portfolio managers and appropriate investment committees
  • Provide support as needed to the lines of business, including private client, family office, institutional, 401(k) and brokerage
  • Support the production of quarterly attribution reports and profiles for assigned manager strategies
  • Determine attribution and provide quarterly written commentary for use with clients, including special commentary as needed
  • Ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of data in attribution reports and profiles
  • Support client retention and new business efforts as needed
  • Work with the compliance team to maintain a favorable risk management environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of the investment field
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Open to hiring at multiple levels depending on candidate's background and experience.
  • 1-3+ years' investment consulting, manager research or related field preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, progress toward, or interest in obtaining is preferred
  • Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation, progress toward, or interest in obtaining is preferred

This compensation range is for the Investment Analyst I & II - CTC job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in determining most appropriate job level and making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $37.75 to $57.20 per hour. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
