Job Description

Medical Assistants are an important part of the care team who work closely with our licensed practitioners to provide care for our patients. This role is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, and assisting physicians with exams.

This is a Part Time role.

HOME CLINIC: Open positions are located at various clinics across the Spokane Metro Area (including Spokane: Downtown, North, & South; Liberty Lake; Airway Heights; and Spokane Valley). We will discuss current open positions and your preferences during the interview.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

The job utilizes a combination of skills including:
  • Clerical computer and phone skills
  • Customer service/people skills
  • Medical terminology
  • Hands on clinical skills
Typical job skills include:
  • Taking vital signs like pulse and blood pressure
  • Updating medications, allergies and other information in patient's medical records
  • Performing some medical procedures, specimen collection and lab testing
This is a combined posting for Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered and Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Associate Medical Assistant

Required qualifications:
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training - Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program.
  • 6 months - Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.
  • 6 months - Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).
Associate Medical Assistant Salary Range, NE Washington: Min: $17.06, Max: $26.07

Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hr or higher depending on experience.

Medical Assistant Registered:

Required Qualifications:
  • Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 6 months of healthcare experience.
  • 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
Medical Assistant Registered, Salary Range, NE Washington: Min: $17.06, Max: $26.07

Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $20.91/hr or higher depending on experience.

Medical Assistant

Required qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for the WA State Certification exam
  • Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire or,
  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 6 months Healthcare experience
  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training - Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for a National Certification exam
Medical Assistant Salary Range, NE Washington: Min: $18.50, Max: $28.27

Most candidates can expect a starting pay of $22.19/hr or higher depending on experience.
