Position Overview: As an Electrical Engineer in our MEP team, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various building projects. You will work under the guidance of licensed electrical engineers (PEs) and collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical calculations, such as load calculations, voltage drop, and short circuit analysis.
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and technical reports using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other relevant software.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure electrical systems are integrated with mechanical, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Assist in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and contractor RFIs (Requests for Information) during construction.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and verify installations meet design specifications and applicable codes.
  • Support project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget by providing technical expertise and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the MEP industry.
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred; willingness to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
