Key Responsibilities: Utilize software expertise to control, analyze, and validate financial data, aiding management decisions and ensuring system integrity. Write queries, programs, and audits to maintain system accuracy and produce reports for decision-making. Perform duties in compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and FASB. Compute and file monthly tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations. Partner with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and enhance cost accounting processes. Analyze sales data and profit margins, providing insights to supervision and specific analysis for customers, products, or projects. Lead or participate in information systems projects, coordinating efforts and training users. Manage accounting staff and areas such as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Handle diverse tasks, adjusting priorities to meet financial closing schedules and improve efficiency through proactive procedure development. Analyze and resolve invoicing discrepancies with customers, and managing vendor communications.

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university. Proof of degree required. Must exhibit the ability to assume responsibility for an assigned area of accounting work and be able to supervise and assist clerical personnel in daily or monthly tasks. Must exhibit the ability to help formulate systems and procedures to be used in cost accounting and be able to communicate this to others. Must exhibit a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, such as Word, Excel, Access, etc. Must be able to work overtime on weekdays and/or weekends as required to fulfill job duties. Must be open to departmental transfer to other Accountant positions within the Finance Division.
