Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our second shift team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment used for manufacturing windows and doors. Your duties will also include performing preventative maintenance on various machinery and equipment such as conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, bearings, saws, and overhead cranes. Additionally, you will repair conveyors, hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and motors. You will be required to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for production equipment. While PLC troubleshooting is a bonus skill, it is not mandatory. You will also be expected to log maintenance and repairs accurately within a software system and monitor the inventory for the maintenance department. Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery such as conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, bearings, saws, and cranes. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Log maintenance and repairs accurately within software. Monitor inventory for the maintenance department. Essential Skills: Industrial maintenance experience. Electrical systems knowledge, including 3-phase motors and 480 volt systems. Mechanical systems expertise, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Experience with machine repair and maintenance logs. Additional Skills & Qualifications: 2+ years of experience or equivalent education in Industrial Maintenance. Work Environment: This role is primarily based in Norwalk, with the main responsibilities there, but may require occasional support in West Des Moines. The position is for the second shift, from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. As the sole technician on this shift, you will have the autonomy to manage tasks and collaborate with other production managers. The facility is not climate-controlled, which means it can get hot in the summer and cold near doors in the winter. You will have access to a golf cart equipped with all necessary tools for mobility across the plant. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of West Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
