**Garden Center Register Shift Leader**

Garden Center Nashville, Tennessee Department **Garden Center** Minimum Experience **Mid-level** Compensation **$18- $20/ hr DOE** Gardens of Babylon Landscapes was founded in 2003 and provides sustainable landscaping services to Nashville, TN and the surrounding areas. Our dedicated team works to improve the lives of our community with inspirational designs and a constant focus on earth-friendly products and landscaping.

Job Purpose

The Garden Center Register Shift Leader is based in the greenhouse and is expected to perform a variety of register operations, customer service and greenhouse maintenance tasks, with a focus on overseeing register operations and maintaining the greenhouse. Completing daily checklists and following store best practices is important for this role. The Garden Center Register Shift Leader reports to the Garden Center General Manager.

Duties + Responsibilities:

Store Leadership

* Maintain cultural standards that are consistent with company values and a productive workplace

* Foster a safe environment for all staff/customers and ensure all safety protocols are followed

* Prioritize communication, coordination and cohesion when interacting with the team

* Assist in establishing daily priorities and assignments in coordination with other supervisors

* Assist in managing team productivity based on daily agenda and flow of the day

* Oversee opening and/or closing duties

* Provide proactive customer service and help meet sales goals

* Assist with general in-store leadership, support and troubleshooting

Greenhouse Team Supervision

* Maintain presentation and cleanliness standards for the greenhouse merchandise

* Maintain team productivity, which includes assigning tasks, providing direction, following up on progress throughout the day, reprioritizing or reassigning tasks as needed, managing break schedules, along with providing support and feedback

* Assist with onboarding and training seasonal greenhouse staff

* Monitor accuracy of register operator transactions

* Troubleshoot point-of-sale system as needed

* Oversee accuracy of register cash and swapping change in drawers

* Provide register coverage as needed

Qualifications:

- Be able to work 5 days/week, weekends, closing shifts a must

- A valid Driver License and a qualifying MVR for company auto insurance is preferred, but not required

- Customer Service/ Register experience is preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and extended periods of bending, stooping, and lifting

- Ability to lift 15-50 lbs. frequently
