Primary function is to schedule and verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients who present for outpatient and inpatient procedures.Pre-register patients by entering informationinto computer accurately and in a professional and courteous manner. Complete patient registration packets prior to the scheduled service date. Collect all patient deductibles and/or co-payments prior to date of service. Refer Self Pay patients to the Financial Counselor and/or Eligibility Vendor when applicable. Assist in the training of new employees to the department. Provides support to other Central Scheduling positions as required. Work with physician offices on ways to decrease the amount of registration time for the patient.
