Responsibilities:

The role

As a Commercial Loan Assistant, you are primarily responsible for assisting commercial lenders.

A Day in the Life

  • Verify, compile, and complete loan applications.
  • Prepare new loan requests to submit to loan processing, review the loan file to verify that data is complete and meets established standards.
  • Process documentation of loans and extensions, close loans and prepare for booking, as well as compute payment and interest.
  • Resolve exceptions or any other documentation deficiencies along with actively managing outstanding exception items for compliance with Credit Policy.
  • Work closely with the assigned officers to assist in collecting financial data and member phone/email communication to better manage the overall member relationship.
  • Monitor reports such as past due, paid off loans, criticized assets, and maturing loan lists to assist and proactively inform officer of potential or pending issues
  • Coordinate and facilitate funding of construction loan disbursements when needed.
Qualifications:

To do this successfully you:

  • Have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Have up to 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Previous loan or loan documentation experience.
  • Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
