This is an outstanding opportunity to build a comprehensive community-based pediatric endocrinology practice , with the support of a large community-based health system. Specifics of The Role Key position with a vital role in developing the new Pediatric Endocrinology program at Parkview 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient workload Typical office hours are 8a-5p but this can be flexible upon the physician’s request Strong interest in quality improvement Opportunity to be involved in clinical teaching and medical student education through IU School of Medicine Fort Wayne The Team Current plan is to staff a comprehensive team of 2 advanced practice providers, 2 registered nurses and 2 diabetes educators to support the physician in providing care for children with diabetes, thyroid and endocrine disorders Thriving Adult Endocrinology Program with 4 adult endocrinologists and 4 advanced practice providers who are eager to collaborate and engage with pediatric endocrinology to facilitate the pediatric to adult transition Robust group of pediatric specialties and pediatric outpatient care Parkview Health’s Enterprise Diabetes Program A robust Enterprise Diabetes Program , headed by a Director and Medical Director Dedicated inpatient and outpatient diabetes education program Integrated Epic platform and diabetes clinical registry Glucommander insulin management and surveillance program implemented throughout the Parkview Hospital system Ambulatory clinical pharmacy program embedded in primary care Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital Located at the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus, with 97 beds dedicated to Women’s and Children’s care: 40 Family Birthing, 34 NICU, 16 Pediatrics and 7 PICU Pediatric specialists collaborate with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital , the #3 ranked pediatric hospital in the US, to bring access to the nation’s top pediatric experts, to northeast Indiana Children are the heart of what we do, and we offer a warm, comforting environment with pediatric rooms that make the stay for young patients and their families as comforting as possible Expert care for children of all ages, but more pediatric specialties – including Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Developmental Care, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Pediatric ENT, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Pulmonology, Pediatric Psychiatry, Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Neonatology Compassionate team of experienced physicians, expert nurses and highly trained clinical staff ensures that every child receives quality care and attention Values the importance of family-centered care during and after their stay On-site Ronald McDonald House offers families with an ill or injured child, a home-away-from-home Parkview Health Proudly committed to bringing the highest quality of care to northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio Region’s largest employer with over 13,000 employees Health system is comprised of more than 800 world-class providers in more than 45 specialties in over 300 locations in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
