Nurse Clinician

Job Summary We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care, education, and support to patients in the physician specialty practice setting. The successful candidate will utilize advanced nursing knowledge and experience to influence nursing practice and function as a clinical and community resource, educator, and consultant. Key Responsibilities: Provides direct patient care in an outpatient physician practice setting, maintaining an advanced knowledge base of disease entities, medications, and other treatment options specific to the medical specialty. Evaluates extensive health history, assesses, and evaluates the effectiveness of care, making changes according to predetermined care plans or after consultation with physicians. Performs phone triage accurately, involving physicians when needed, and uses critical thinking skills and advanced knowledge to handle patient concerns. Triages current patient populations and incoming referrals, prioritizing scheduling of office visits and testing, and informs physicians of any changes in schedule. Identifies learning needs of patients and/or families, works with team members and community resources to develop and carry out educational plans, and modifies the process as needed to ensure educational objectives are met. Assists with in-office procedures, provides comfort and safety measures for patients before, during, and after procedures. Maintains patient safety by ensuring a safe environment, fosters awareness of safety procedures, protocols, and adherence to patient care standards, and participates in environmental rounds to ensure a safe environment. Champions the development, implementation, and evaluation of PI projects and policies and procedures specific to the specialty area, mentors, and assists new team members until they are proficient. Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, state statues, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, maintains competency through education and professional activities, and reflects on identified areas of strength that offer opportunities for growth and improvement. Acts as an expert resource for and coordinates continuing education for team members and hospital staff using community resources as necessary, under the direction of the manager/nurse manager. Requirements: Education: Associate degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: One (1) year of Clinical Nursing Experience within the specialty or related applicable specialty. Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina. Certification in specialty area preferred. Work Environment: This role is based in the United States of America and offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development.
