Examples of applications are critical fleet (US Navy), spacecraft and satellites, aerospace, clean tech, alternative energy, semiconductor, medical equipment, and nuclear components.JOB SUMMARY: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team located in El Cajon, CA. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe and milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role demands technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines to manufacture parts Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for each job Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools Verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts Maintain organized workspaces and ensure compliance with safety protocols Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve performance Document production activities and report deviations or defects Train and mentor team members on CNC operations and best practices Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes Maintain accurate production records Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards Conduct quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges High school diploma or technical certificate in machining or manufacturing 25 years of experience operating CNC lathe and mill machines Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and CNC programming basics Strong understanding of GD&T and precision measurement techniques Effective communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of safety protocols and shop procedures Able to walk for long periods of time, stoop, squat, climb, and work extended hours and weekends if required. Certification in Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
