A local, stable manufacturer is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable Logistics specialist. The company is growing and this position offers potential for career advancement.
Main Duties
Order entry, record keeping of all shipping documents, and assist with inventory management
Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and ensure timely delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (especially maintenance and materials control) to develop and implement logistics strategies
Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Manage customer service customer-care, maintain and update contact and broker information on customer accounts.
Maintain relationships with carriers, sourcing new carriers.
Assist with picking, packing, and shipping of orders as needed
Qualifications:
At least two years previous experience in logistics or warehouse/transportation.
Proficiency in data entry and using ERP and MRP systems (SAGE-300 preferred)
Knowledge of warehouse management systems and distribution center operation
Must have worked in an office setting, and have solid computer/software/data entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
