Description:

Seeking an experienced Data Scientist to meet the growing demand for predictive analytics to provide actionable information and business insights. In this role, you will partner with the business and other data scientists to experiment, design, build, and deploy machine learning models that predict utilization for Population Health and Health Care Services. The data scientist will perform research and analysis required by business stakeholders to inform data-driven outreach and care decisions for our members. Responsibilities include the design and implementation of pipelines for ingestion, engineering, and analysis of data from a wide variety of sources and building and testing predictive models using machine learning and advanced statistics (emphasis on the latter). This role will report to the Manager of Advanced Analytics within Corporate Data & Analytics.

Minimum Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent related work or military experience. 3-5 years of experience in data science or data analysis with a focus on advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, forecasting, and optimization. Deep knowledge of Client tools & frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. Proven track record building data and modeling pipelines, modeling rare events using applied supervised learning algorithms, familiarity with conceptual and logical data modeling principles. Outstanding applied skills in statistical analysis, modeling & inferencing (hypothesis testing, outlier detection, statistical inference & analysis). Extensive experience with Python and SQL programming languages.

Preferred Experience:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or any related quantitative discipline. Knowledge and experience with data warehouses, data storage, cloud platforms, and cloud computing such as Azure/Databricks. Demonstrated examples of generating business insights that improved operations or financials. Familiarity with claims data / payer industry. Strong communications skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, ability to explain complex modeling approaches in simple terms and develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with business problems.
