Paid vacationand an annual bonus 401K with company match Opportunity for career stability and growth Flexibility with start and end times (depending on circumstances and position) Protective personal equipment is provided, or the cost of purchase is reimbursed Affinity group for women (dependent on location) On-the-job training RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting of Income Taxes Review of the periodic U.S. income tax provisions, note disclosure and uncertain tax positions, Ensure compliance with IAS 12 and other related accounting standards, Manage different stakeholders, including internal and external resources, to meet project due dates and ensure accuracy of information, Identify, develop, recommend, and implement standard operating procedures and internal controls designed to strengthen the overall tax environment and accelerate the timely and accurate financial reporting of income taxes. Compliance Review of all U.S. Federal and State income and franchise tax returns, including documentation to support annual transfer price studies, Manage different stakeholders, including internal and external resources to meet project due dates (i.e., tax return filings generally completed by March 31st), and ensure accuracy of information, Review, coordinate, and monitor U.S. compliance filings related to foreign entities (, Identify, recommend, and implement standard operating procedures to further centralize and support the efficient, timely, and accurate preparation of all filings, Review indirect tax advice provided to sites and oversee the indirect tax reporting processes including educating the sites, where appropriate Controversy Effectively manage all tax audits and respond to all tax notices and related correspondence. Tax planning/Special Projects Lead tax planning opportunities for Mergers and Acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations in the U.S. and other foreign jurisdictions as appropriate, Identify, research, recommend, and implement opportunities to lower the effective tax rate, minimize cash taxes, and increase cash repatriations to Canada, SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE: Proficiency with Onesource tax software Ability to analyze general ledger entries efficiently Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products and knowledge of HFM and its capabilities EXPERIENCE: At least 10 to 12 years combined experience with, Audit function of a public accounting firm, Tax function of a public accounting firm, Corporate tax function of a multinational public company, Strong tax technical skills and thorough understanding of domestic income tax legislation, Good working knowledge of international tax, including Transfer Pricing, Treaty Based Financing Structures, Pillar 2 implementation (i.e., Global Minimum Tax), and the tax-efficient repatriation of earnings, Proven ability to identify and research tax issues, communicate findings, and recommend and implement solutions, Strong and thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and ASC 740 (accounting for income taxes) for the financial reporting of income taxes and the financial statement audit function, Good understanding and experience with standard operating procedures and internal controls, Thorough understanding and experience with Research and Development (R&D) and other income-based tax incentives and credits, Knowledge and experience with obtaining incentives and credits related to the expansion of business in the U.S. and other jurisdictions, Hands-on experience with tax return preparation software (Onesource), Knowledge and experience with indirect and other taxes such as sales and use and personal property tax, Demonstrated resourcefulness to effectively manage internal and external resources to meet project due dates, Proven know-how to effectively collaborate with different stakeholders (i.e., Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Operations,) and build consensus within a large decentralized organization. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and complete work timely and accurately with minimal supervision, Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills, Manage and develop staff, Ability to gain cooperation, collaborate, and build consensus with direct and non-direct reports, Sharp business acumen, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Ability to review processes and identify improvements with the goal of developing best practices.
