This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of actual and forecasted financial information for the valuation of renewable energy projects. This individual will have the opportunity to gain corporate finance knowledge within the renewable energy industry working on project finance transactions, deal structuring's, financial modeling, investor management, and business development. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • current and future renewable projects within Bluestems development pipeline through modeling cash flows, estimating returns, understanding equity and debt financing, and evaluating operating risks.
  • with the leadership team on preparing due diligence at the project-level to optimize costs and maximize revenues.
  • with deal closing as well as with transaction origination.
  • support to senior management through insightful analysis of key business drivers and reporting period performances of relevant metrics.
  • prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual external financial statements.
  • data integrity across all systems.
  • work product with results that are accurate and timely.
  • ad hoc financial analysis and monthly reporting requirements as needed.
  • other duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • In-depth working finance knowledge (P&L, Balance Sheet, & Cash Flow) and comfort with standard accounting methods.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with databases and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • In-depth working knowledge and exceptional understanding of budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to audiences both internally and externally.
  • Interpersonal skills for building and fostering key relationships are critical.
  • Demonstrated skills in information aggregation, organization, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and working with limited resources or information.
  • Ability to process large quantities of data quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience*:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related financial discipline, or equivalent experience required.
  • New or recent college graduates will be considered. Previous intern experience in finance-related positions are preferred.
