Role Summary The Systems Administrator is a hands?on technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring corporate networks and servers (on?premises and cloud) in a 24/7 environment. The role balances technical execution (50%) and analytical/project work (50%) and requires effective communication with engineering teams. Major Responsibilities Design, implement, maintain, and monitor Linux and Windows operating systems. Implement infrastructure items for development projects. Provide administration, troubleshooting, and application support for IT platforms such as Docker, Proxmox, GitLab, Ceph, and middleware. Communicate with engineering stakeholders to determine hardware, data flows, and system definitions. Create and maintain documentation for usage, status reports, and technical issues. Oversee day?to?day operational aspects of projects and coordinate team work. Develop tactical and strategic plans, standards, guidelines, and policies for network resources. Conduct change planning and formal change control processes to eliminate disruptions while maintaining service levels. Evaluate system performance, optimize, and initiate recovery actions after failures. Manage business partner platforms (managed services, IaaS, SaaS, PaaS). Implement quality maintenance procedures, including data backup and server optimization. Administer distribution and retention of data on network devices. Additional Responsibilities Perform testing and installation of new equipment and systems. Establish, control, and maintain system access and security. Coordinate support staff and vendors. Required Skills & Personal Qualifications 4?6 years of HPC systems experience or equivalent. 2?4 years as a Systems Administrator supporting Linux/Windows environments and networking. 2?4 years of enterprise networking experience. Proficiency with Docker environments (Rancher, Kubernetes, Portainer, etc.). Experience administering Ceph and Proxmox clusters. Experience with GPU server roll?out and maintenance. Experience administering pfSense firewalls. Knowledge of Ansible for network automation. High?speed network tuning (100+?Gbps). Experience with Arista network environments and Ubiquiti technologies. Knowledge of WireGuard VPN protocols and HPC concepts. Preferred Skills Up to 2 years working in a data center environment. Professional network administration certificates (Cisco, Arista, Ubiquiti) or equivalent experience. Education / Experience Requirements BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Work Environment Hybrid: remote 2 days per week after 90 days. Prolonged desk sitting. Occasional lifting up to 20?lbs. 5% travel.
