Payment Analyst

Position Summary: The Payment Analyst is responsible for posting & reviewing all third-party payments (hospital & clinics) from insurance companies and government payers. Calculate/post contractual allowances for all payers and ensure their accuracy. Analyze insurance and government payments for denials and flag denials/inappropriate payments for billers to follow- up. Post electronic remittances from online ERA storage and patient payments. Minimum Qualifications: + Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent + Preferred: 1 year of healthcare billing experience Essential Job Functions: + Accurately post all third party payments (electronically and manually). + Analyze payments for denials and flag denials/inappropriate payments for billers to follow- up. + Accurately calculate/post contractual allowances from insurance and government payers. + Transmit weekly self-pay accounts to early-out program. + Reconcile NSF checks and lost payments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work varied shifts. + Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment. + Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
