Business Accounting Analyst

Our client has experienced significant, sustained growth and profitability over the last five years and as a result they are looking to make an addition to their Finance Department. The growth of the Company has necessitated additional investments in people and systems to support the continued and projected trajectory. The Business Accounting Analyst is a critical addition to the finance team that will actively manage various aspects of the Company's accounting processes, compliance requirements and special projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounting

  • Daily monitoring of daily transactional activity (e.g. daily bank/credit card activity)
  • Prepares bank reconciliations, account analyses and other internal control requirements.
  • Assist in month end close process and ownership of various month end accruals and journal entries

Compliance

  • Collaborates with external service providers to provide information as needed for annual reporting, tax compliance, benefit plans, etc.

Special Projects

  • Actively participates in implementation and roll-out of new ERP
  • Organizes electronic information repositories with CFO to improve access, searchability, and record retention requirements
Requirements
  • Solid understanding and application of accounting principals (i.e. debits/credits, journal entries, chart of accounts)
  • Experience with owning bank reconciliations and other account analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements for mid-size, private businesses.
  • Proficient with various ERP packages, Microsoft Office Suite, and business intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI).
  • Strong financial analysis skills with attention to reliability, accuracy, and user impact.
  • Highly motivated individual with an ability to drive results and work with ambiguity.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands, driving results within critical deadlines.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting
  • At least 5 years or relevant experience required.
  • Must be a "rollup your sleeves" individual who is comfortable in the weeds, hungry for growth, and eager to make an impact.
