*Position summary This position will be an integral part of our accounting department which handles the daily financial functions concerning the operations of the mobile home communities we manage. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this position focuses heavily on the accounts payable and some accounts receivable responsibilities of the department to assist the accounting team in meeting the monthly goals. *Company Overview Founded in 1958, the Star Companies is a family-owned and operated firm specializing in the manufactured housing industry. Star's Mission Statement is: We provide superior service to manufactured home communities, maximizing value of the properties that we are entrusted to serve. *Company Core Values Transparency Accountable Integrity Teamwork Excellence *Position Performance Objectives Review and process invoices per department's schedule including, but not limited to, live checks and electronic payments. Monitor cash balances on General Ledger for assigned properties. Follow the monthly accounting calendar for each property. Prepare weekly accounts payable, in-house and through AvidXchange. Communicate with vendors on a regular basis and research A/P discrepancies. Support on-site managers for accounting needs and inquiries. *Key Competencies: Good work ethic and uphold the company values. Schedule and adhere to numerous deadlines. Able to work independently. Excellent communication skills. Great attention to detail. Adhere to deadlines. Solve problems effectively. Be well organized. Exercise good judgment. Work well on a team to meet monthly goals. There are also several special projects that are available to the right candidate. This position also has growth potential. *Physical Requirements: Has the ability to work at the corporate office in front of a computer screen/typing approximately 90% of a typical working day. Has the ability to bend, reach and lift boxes and office supplies up to 30 pounds. *Experience Requirements: AA degree in Accounting (minimum) Completion of certified accounting courses Minimum of 2 years' similar experience Familiar with accounting principles Rent Manager or Yardi experience is a plus Property management industry experience is beneficial *What we offer: Medical, dental and vision benefits 401k plan with company match 10 paid holidays 5 vacation days first year, accrual begins immediately Hourly Range: $23 - $25 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week Location: Tustin, CA 92780, onsite in corporate office If this position caught your eye, apply online now.
