The Trade Show and Event Manager is responsible for management of the Dentsply Sirona Academy in our Charlotte location with an emphasis on event execution. The Dentsply Sirona Academy is a state-of-the-art training facility for dental professionals who seek comprehensive clinical and technical continuing education, including hands-on teaching, live lectures, and on-demand webinars featuring courses taught by experts in all fields of dentistry. This position also oversees the Canadian Academy event planning team and manages the North American tradeshow function for Dentsply Sirona. This hybrid role is in office 2-3 days a week.

Academy responsibilities:

  • Lead and manages the event planning team to ensure the successful execution of all Academy events.
  • Works with the Clinical Affairs team to develop, implement and execute customer and sales team training events consistent with business needs, practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure the DS Academy continues to be the pre-eminent destination in dentistry for clinicians at every level.
  • Continuously manages, forecasts and reviews program budgets to ensure accuracy. Tracks and reports expenses to key stakeholders and communicates changes to them on a consistent basis. Works with finance team to initiate and reconcile vendor payments in a timely manner.
  • Manages master calendar of events for the Academy.
  • Develops and continually refines processes and protocols to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
Tradeshow responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive North American tradeshow strategies that drive business growth and brand awareness.
  • Plan and execute large scale tradeshow events, overseeing all tradeshow logistics including booth design, marketing collateral, vendor management, budget, and post-event analysis and reporting.
  • Design visually compelling tradeshow booths and displays that reflect the brand's identity and attract target audiences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive branding across all tradeshow elements, enhancing the overall attendee experience.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to integrate product demonstrations, presentations, and other interactive elements into the tradeshow experience.
  • Prepare post-event reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for future events.
  • Implement feedback and lessons learned from each tradeshow to enhance future planning and execution.
  • Handle all budget management needs for event planning purposes and identify new tradeshow opportunities for the brand to participate in.
  • Manage on-site responsibilities for approximately five focus tradeshows annually, including DS World, Dentsply Sirona's flagship event.
Years and Type of Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of meeting planning and tradeshow experience is required.
  • The preferred candidate will have managed large-scale tradeshow events and managed budgets of $1 M plus.
Key Required Skills, Knowledge, and Capabilities:
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and careful follow-through.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM tool, EventPro and Cvent is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
  • Knowledge and experience in the dental industry is a plus.
