practice leverages a unique combination of technologies and expertise to engineer practical solutions to problems of national and international importance. We apply expertise in solid and fluid dynamics, materials science, acoustics, risk assessments and computational simulation methods to solve complex problems. We preform research, mathematical modeling, software development and design to manage risks to life safety in military platforms and installations, ships and submarines, critical infrastructure, tall buildings, public facilities, industrial and petrochemical plants and automotive and airborne vehicles. Military, government, corporate and academic clients value the validation of Applied Sciences software and the critical insights gained from correlating analysis with testing.
The Role
We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Applied Science team .

You will be part of an engineering team that supports projects at US Department of Energy facilities in New Mexico and across the country.

Candidates for the Structural Engineer position should have experience in projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, health care, and research facility design, and tenant renovation work preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.
Responsibilities
Structural analysis, design, and details for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes

Design of conventional structures, including industrial facilities and office buildings

Support of both new design and renovation of existing structures

Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines

Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment

Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

Basic knowledge of structural systems, components, and load paths

Experience with current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa-3D, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit

Strong graphic, technical, written, and verbal communication skills

Ability and willingness to travel within the US

The position requires the candidate to gain and hold US Security clearance
