Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Project Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Nashville, TN.

In this role, you will manage capital projects, utilizing your previous experience as Project Manager or Construction Manager with an Owner, AE, or GC on industrial construction projects.

In this role, you will:
  • Deliver professional services to individual plants with positive customer-like interaction and regular follow-up.
  • Lead large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from the manager
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals
  • Assist in the development of the operational plan and implementation for areas of assigned responsibilities
  • Identify continuous improvement/automation activities
  • Prepares project plans, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new project deliverables
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources necessary to complete the project
  • May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors
  • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports continuous improvement/automation activities
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's degree Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical), Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related focus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial construction projects or 8 years experience with commercial or multi-unit residential construction projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS project Experience with CAD applications


Additional Information

This direct hire/permanent role will be in Nashville, TN, and will offer a salary, bonus, and a comprehensive suite of benefits. This position requires domestic and international travel nominally at 50%, with blocks of time at higher and lower percentages. Relocation assistance is available.
