Materials Manager

Job Type Full-timeDescriptionNegotiates with vendors for the purchasing of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services utilized by the facility and its employees. Controls inventory and overstock for each department. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Order supplies in an efficient and effective manner, finding products at the lowest costTrack and keep adequate inventoryManage purchase order tracking, obtain and maintain approvalsCoordination of BioMedFinding the best product at the lowest costResearch products needed for the hospitalMeet with vendorsNegotiate contracts with buying groups and vendorsMatch invoices with purchase orders as needed.Check on back ordered items.Get information to return products.Deliver inter-office mail to employees, prepare outgoing mail and send out, prepare outgoing packages with UPS and FedEx and send outAssist with copy machines, and prepare copies of carbon copy forms when applicableFollow all hospital policies and proceduresKeep and organized work area, and keep warehouse storage organized at all timesOther duties as assigned RequirementsProfessional Requirements: Requires continuous performance of detailed tasks, interruptions and changing work priorities.Cognizant of fiscal responsibility with ordering, pricing, and credit card usageCompletes annual education requirementsMaintains patient confidentiality at all timesReports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.Wears identification while on dutyCompletes in-services and returns in a timely fashionAttends annual review and department in-services, as scheduledRepresents the organization in a positive and professional mannerComplies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practicesThis position is responsible for wholehearted, genuine operations of all aspects of the safety and health program - including compliance with rules and regulations- and for continuously practicing safety and health while performing their dutiesPerform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or five years' experience preferredManagement or supervisory experience preferredComputer knowledge required1+ years' experience in purchasing or related field Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, lifting, reading, standing, walking, and writingRequires occasional lifting of 25 pounds or more and bendingRequires normal vision rangeRequires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityRequires repetitive motion
