Sr. Load & Performance Engineer

Remote

6-12+ month contract

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Load and Performance Engineer will join a strong test automation team and will be responsible for defining, creating, and maintaining load and performance tests that support a variety of applications. They will also be incorporating performance validations into the development cycle, running and evaluating both API and front-end-based performance tests, and analyzing performance metrics.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Define, design, develop and maintain automated testing scripts in JMeter and DevWeb/LoadRunner Cloud for a variety of applications and servicesCreate, modify, and maintain Power BI reports using Azure SQL databases and Power BI dataflows to monitor performance metrics.Modify and maintain Javascript API code related to automatically scraping metrics for analytics purposes.Create and modify Splunk queries.Monitor and report analytics data from Microsoft Azure.Troubleshoot and provide suggestions to increase load and performance of applicationsPartner with developers and architects to enhance the stability and throughput of the systemEvaluate production metrics to generate effective load testsResponsible for defining and driving innovative automation testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes within the organizationParticipate in both the current state and future state of test planning and execution of load and performance testingWork with developers, product owners, application support, and business intelligence teams to help define current and future system performance and load requirementsCollaborate with SCRUM teams to incorporate the effective creation of load tests and user stories in each release cycleCollaborate with other team members to maintain automation testing best practicesOther work-related duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline5+ years working experience in QA AutomationExperience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to LoadRunner Developer (Javascript/Node.js) and LoadRunner CloudExperience in creating and modifying PowerBI reportsExperience with Javascript (primarily Node.js)Experience with Azure SQL databasesProven track record implementing load and performance testing strategies and reporting solutionsWorking knowledge of common software architectures (web/mobile/API/DB)Proficiency with cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure)Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environmentsExperience with TFS or Azure DevOps, Agile process improvement, CI/CD automation, MS Build, NPM or other packagesAbility to work in complex pre-production environmentsProfessional attitude, leading by exampleDriven and passionate about quality assurance, software development, and agile methodologiesHave great communication and interpersonal skills and deal effectively with all business unitsAble to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral formsOther duties as required to meet the needs of the businessThis job description is designed to contain a condensed overview of the skills and experience applicable to the successful performance of this role
