Insomnia Cookies is seeking a skilled Vice President of Supply Chain & Procurement to lead and transform procurement and delivery of our supply chain activities, based out of our Corporate HQ in Center City Philadelphia. This senior leadership role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of progressive sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiencies, supply assurance and quality in the procurement of direct & indirect materials, including packaging, co-manufactured products and services for large network of stores spanning the U.S., UK & Canada. This role is expected to help identify and screen suppliers, develop strategic relationships, negotiate terms and conditions, and continuously drive improved supplier service levels through leadership and direction on a cross functional basis. This position will lead continuous improvement activities, optimizing product sourcing management, cost management, and problem resolution.

Position responsibilities

    • Develop program procurement, purchasing, contracts, negotiations & vendor selection, including frameworks for vendor evaluation, engagement, and RFP ownership.
    • Ensure procurement strategies, processes, and program executions are fully integrated to support internal business plans and objectives and will actively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that our knowledge, relationships, and investments are effectively and efficiently leveraged.
    • Establish processes, systems, etc., to more effectively meet the needs and strategic priorities of the Company.
    • Establish extensive professional knowledge and experience of principles and techniques of negotiation to advise the business, direct and secure the best outcome for the company, maximize leverage control and steer complex and critical negotiations.
    • Manage relationships with our key co-manufactures/suppliers.
    • Ensure that new projects and programs are timely and effectively implemented in accordance with budgetary objectives and all contractual requirements.
    • Develop, direct, and manage overall cost reduction targets and oversee execution of initiatives.
    • Responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing supply markets, identifying sourcing value levers, executing competitive RFIs/RFPs and leading supplier negotiations for expense budget.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with functional heads to understand and support their vendor needs; work with them to identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power.
    • Further reduce cost in the Insomnia Cookies supply chain by working with co-manufactures, 3PLs and internal logistics providers.
    • Leverage Insomnia Cookies' parent entities' buying power on cost of goods and ensure sustainable supply of quality materials. Review key direct & indirect material and services purchasing contracts with vendors and suppliers on an annual basis.
    • Nurture better relations with our vendors and supplier partners to contain inflationary pressures through innovation and reformulation.
Desired Qualifications:
    • 10+ years of strategic sourcing experience in a high growth environment including 3+ years in a leadership role within the Food, Retail service or Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
    • Experience with "Strategic Sourcing Techniques" such as managing value stream, lean concepts, contractual alternatives, and buying theories. Knowledge of any purchasing tool is a plus.
    • Prior experience growing a national brand to global prominence is a plus
    • The ability to demonstrate proven results with contract reading, writing and negotiation.
    • A strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong presentation skills.
    • A Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field. MBA or any Supply Chain certification will be plus.
