Generate RFIs to assist in job clarity on an as-needed basis. Review drawings, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation. Attend and participate in project-specific meetings to determine the most efficient project design while following the scope of work. Work with engineering to communicate design requirements and update designs to engineering specifications. Communicate effectively to help maintain internal and construction schedules. Identify opportunities for improvement (value engineering) and make constructive suggestions for change. Develop a comprehensive knowledge of products and their applicability to project requirements. Show dimensions, materials to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete. Communicate details/complexities to ensure accurate release of information to manufacturing. Operate in a cross-functional capacity, supporting other production requirements as part of the project team as workflow demands change. Work to help reduce errors and improve drawing standards for external and internal use. Monitor own project task metrics: Correct, On Time, and On Budget. Other duties as assigned by management. Project Design Engineer Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in architecture or engineering, preference towards Architectural CADD degreed program or similar. Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design and/or previous relevant experience. General understanding of construction practices and principles. Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate a small project (or defined portion of a larger project) from concept through construction documentation. Self-starter who is focused, articulate, well-organized, and detail-oriented. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and familiarity with other 3D software, Bluebeam Revu, and Office Products. Passion for technological advancement and personal growth.
