Job Description

For more than 120 years, KASCO has been the industry leader in providing quality products, parts, repairs, and service to the meat processing and retail institutional food industries. Our cutting edge products include band saw blades, meat grinder plates and knives, and cutlery. Key Objectives

Responsible for overseeing and managing all information technology planning, personnel, and activities, effectively leading the Company's IT operations and services, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of technology systems, and driving initiatives which enhance business processes. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the technology strategy that aligns with overall business objectives and ensuring proper management and maintenance of all computer networks, operating systems, hardware, and software applications. Development of new technical solutions, maintenance of existing applications, information security, back-up plans, and disaster recovery are all critical components of this role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review and make recommendations for migration to a cloud-based ERP system capable of supporting sales, invoicing/billing, finance/accounting, and inventory management activities.
  • Develops and directs the information technology (IT) strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Manages and leads the Company's IT operations, including management of personnel, projects and schedules, technology infrastructure and maintenance related to information technology and systems. Directs and prioritizes departmental workload.
  • Ensures productive, online systems access is always available across the business, and that systems downtime is extremely limited.
  • Communicates effectively with key stakeholders to understand their technological needs and expectations. Provides regular updates on IT initiatives, projects, and performance metrics.
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends appropriate technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Oversees systems development/ enhancements and the integration of new systems with existing systems.
  • Selects, evaluates, implements, and maintains updated and refreshed technical solutions, quality hardware, software, and technology tools.
  • Researches and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implements effective IT project control by monitoring the progress of key application and software releases, upgrades, conversions, and file maintenance, and provides status information to management.
  • Ensures an elevated level of customer satisfaction with systems usage via a quality IT help desk and well-trained IT staff professionals, all providing timely and high-quality technical support services and problem solving.
  • Provides superior information security and disaster recovery procedures and ensures compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
  • Implements and enforces cybersecurity measures to protect Company data and systems.
  • Ensures all internal customers understand the appropriate procedures and policy accountabilities.
  • Ensures the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
  • Evaluates and manages external technology relationships, negotiates contracts, ensures service level agreements are met, and optimizes vendor partnerships.
  • Creates and manages annual budget and financials, including monthly cost allocations.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of IT management and leadership experience. Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing people.
  • Extensive experience working with current technologies, products, information security, confidential data, and disaster recovery policies, plans and procedures. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of information systems, network and technology design, maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Extensive experience with project management leadership and practices and the management of multiple concurrent projects. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle. Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • In-depth experience and skills with LEAN methodologies and applications. Strong process orientation.
  • Excellent financial, analytical, and mathematical skills. Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems with strategic critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative and sensitivity.
  • Strong business acumen and judgement
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and capable of gaining commitment and coordinate action for initiatives
